The case review is a comprehensive investigation into your case history and laboratory tests. Typically, a client needing a case review has at least 5 – 7 year’s worth of labs results for Dr. Joe to review prior to a case review. All lab tests and medical history must be provided, at one-time, for the case review process. The goal of the case review process is to avoid unnecessary case management, loss of financial resources, loss of time, and loss of energy. Successful management of any case requires appropriate testing, diagnosis, financial commitments, and realistic clinical expectations.
Step one :
For the case review, we will ask you to provide us with a detailed medical history, fill out several health questionnaire forms, and send us your recent laboratory and medical test results.
Dr. Joe will review this information and schedule a 30 minute Zoom meeting to discuss your case.
The case review serves several purposes:
- It allows Dr. Joe to interpret your lab tests and provide his expert opinion and the best starting point
- It gives you an opportunity to meet him and have your questions answered
- It gives you an opportunity to determine if Dr. Joe is a good fit for you.
- It helps you formulate a budget based on phases of care necessary to manage your case and gives you a clear sense of the costs involved in managing your case.
Dr. Joe developed this case review process in response to a large number of international and national patients flying into the SF Bay Area for consultations. The case review process determines whether Dr. Joe is the right person to support your health care goals and helps avoid unnecessary travel expenses.
Once you have submitted all of your forms and records, we will contact you to schedule the case review appointment. The cost of Dr Joe’s thorough review and expert analysis of your health history is $2000. 50% deposit is collected at the time of scheduling and we regret that we do not accept health insurance at this time.
Step two :
Once the case review is completed and Dr. Joe determines that your best first step is an in-person appointment, we will proceed with scheduling a new patient exam. Dr. Joe may request additional lab testing or medical testing prior to or during your appointment.
The comprehensive new patient evaluation requires an hour and 45 minutes of your time in the office and approximately 4 hours of Dr. Joe's time after the appointment to develop a treatment plan based on exam findings, history, past labs, new labs, etc. The cost of the initial comprehensive evaluation is $1000 for adults, and $900 for children.
After your comprehensive evaluation, follow-up appointments with Dr. Joe are scheduled for in-office or online teleconference visits. Consulting appointments are: 30 minutes at a cost of $200, 45 minutes at $300, and 60 minutes at $400. The State of California requires at least one in-person appointment per year, so please keep this in mind if you live out of the area.
To help you anticipate future costs, lab tests can range from $20-$2,000 in the first year. If Dr. Joe determines that supplements would help you achieve your goal faster, he will make recommendations and those costs for supplements could be $200-$2000 in the first year.
Our clinic is located in Fairfax, California 20 miles north of San Francisco. San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport serve our area and are about an hour from our clinic.
